Sarinex is prescribed for relieving symptoms linked with both seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, including sneezing, nasal discharge, itching, congestion, ocular symptoms like itching, tearing, and redness, as well as itching of the palate and coughing. It is also indicated for treating symptoms associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria, such as itching and the size and number of hives.

✔️ Pharmacology
Desloratadine, the principal active metabolite of Loratadine, is a non-sedating, long-acting tricyclic histamine antagonist with selective H1-receptor histamine antagonist activity. It also inhibits histamine release from human mast cells.

- Adults and children aged 12 years and over 1 tablet daily.
✔️ Interaction
There have been no clinically relevant drug interactions reported. Desloratadine is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to this medication or any of its ingredients or Loratadine.
✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation
Desloratadine is classified as Pregnancy Category C, and its safe use during pregnancy has not been established. It passes into breast milk, so a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or the medication, considering its importance to the mother.

- In adult patients with liver or renal impairment, a starting dose of one 5 mg tablet every other day is recommended based on pharmacokinetic data, especially if there is a medical or familial history of seizures.
