• Take Clobazam with or without food. Do not take in larger amounts than advised. 
• Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable effects. 
• Do not stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor as it may cause withdrawal symptoms.

✔️ Indications

Clobazam is used in the treatment of epilepsy/seizures and severe anxiety.

✔️ Pharmacology

Clobazam binds to GABA receptors, increasing the time the chloride ionophore is open, resulting in membrane hyperpolarization and stability.

✔️ Dosage & Administration:

General Dosage Principles:

• Keep the dose as low as possible.
• Careful consideration of interference with alertness and reaction time.

Anxiety States:

• Adults and adolescents over 15 years: Initial dose of 20 mg daily, not exceeding a total daily dose of 30 mg.
• Elderly: Lower initial doses, with a maintenance dose of 10 to 15 mg daily.
• Children (3 to 15 years): Daily dose of 5 to 10 mg.

Epilepsy (Combination Therapy):

• Adults and adolescents: Start with small doses (5 to 15 mg daily) and titrate gradually to a maximum daily dose of about 80 mg.
• Children (3 to 15 years): Start with 5 mg daily, a maintenance dose of 0.3 to 1.0 mg/kg body weight daily.

Administration:

• Tablets can be administered whole or crushed and mixed in applesauce.
• The 10 mg tablets can be divided into equal halves of 5 mg.
• Can be given with or without food.
