Azithromycin, the active component of Azicin, binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, inhibiting RNA-dependent protein synthesis. This blocks bacterial growth by preventing the production of essential proteins. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered. Skip it if the next dose is near—do not double up.
