✅ Description:
- Flumetanol Ear Drops contain Clioquinol 1% + Flumetasone Pivalate 0.02%, a potent difluorinated glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, vasoconstrictive, and antiproliferative effects.
- It also contains clioquinol, a halogenated hydroxyquinoline derivative with bacteriostatic action against a broad spectrum of microorganisms, including fungi and Gram-positive bacteria.
- For adults and children (aged 2 years and over), the recommended dose is 2 to 3 drops twice daily for the prescribed period, usually not longer than 10 days.
- Before application, warm the ear drops to body temperature by holding the bottle in the palm of your hand. Do not heat it above body temperature.

✔️ Side Effects:
Possible side effects include a burning sensation, itching, or skin rash. Treatment should be discontinued if severe irritation or sensitization develops.
✔️ Adult Dose:
For otic/aural inflammation of the external ear with suspected secondary infection in adults, instill 2-3 drops bid (twice daily) directly into the auditory canal of the affected ear. The recommended treatment duration is 7-10 days. The patient should be seated or lying down with the treated ear turned upwards during application. Maintain this position for at least 1-2 minutes after application to ensure proper distribution of the medication.

✔️ Overdose Effects:
Application to extensive or eroded areas of skin may lead to increased PBI values within 1 week. Withdraw the preparation immediately if signs and symptoms resembling those of thyrotoxicosis occur.
✔️ Use In Special Populations:
Children under 2 years of age are contraindicated for use.
✔️ Interaction:
Topical use of clioquinol-containing preparations may lead to a marked increase in protein-bound iodine (PBI).
✔️ Contraindications:
Flumetanol 1%+0.02% is contraindicated in patients with a punctured eardrum, pre-existing tuberculosis of the skin, fungal or viral infections of the skin (Chickenpox, Herpes simplex, Herpes zoster), known hypersensitivity to corticosteroids, iodine, clioquinol, flumetasone pivalate, hydroxyquinoline, quinolone derivatives, or any of the ingredients of this formulation.
✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation:
While no reports of adverse effects in human pregnancy have been received to date, caution should be exercised when using Flumetanol during pregnancy. It is not known whether flumetasone pivalate or clioquinol passes into breast milk, so caution is advised when administering Flumetanol to nursing mothers.
✔️ Precautions & Warnings:
Before starting therapy, the eardrum should be checked by a physician. Avoid contact with the conjunctiva. Discontinue therapy if no improvement occurs within about 1 week. Store in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct light. Keep out of the reach of children.
