Benzydamine Hydrochloride mouthwash is a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) that also has analgesic (pain-relieving) and local anesthetic properties. When used topically, Benzydamine is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream, so it works primarily at the site of pain, such as the mouth or throat, providing effective relief with minimal systemic side effects.
Unlike other NSAIDs, Benzydamine works by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines and reducing vascular permeability, which helps to reduce inflammation and pain. It also acts as a local anesthetic, providing immediate pain relief.

✔️ Side Effects
Although rare, Oryza mouthwash may cause some side effects, typically minor:
- Severe allergic reaction: Includes symptoms such as a red, lumpy skin rash, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, mouth, lips, or eyelids, unexplained fever, or faintness. Immediate medical attention is needed if the swelling affects the throat and makes breathing or swallowing difficult.
- Itchy rash (urticaria), sometimes with raised, pale areas of skin.
- Numbness in the mouth.
- Stinging sensation in the mouth (can be alleviated by diluting the mouthwash with water).

- Rinse or gargle with 15 ml of Benzydamine mouthwash every 1.5-3 hours or as needed, for 20-30 seconds.
- If stinging occurs, the mouthwash can be diluted with an equal volume of water to reduce discomfort.
Pediatric Use: Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
