✔️ Pharmacology:
- Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate is an essential trace element involved in various enzyme systems in the body.
- Functions of Zinc:
- Normal growth and health.
- Vital for sexual maturation, reproduction, dark vision adaptation, olfactory and gustatory activity.
- Insulin storage and release.
- Immune system defense, wound healing, and sensory functions (taste and smell).
- Deficiency Symptoms:
- Impaired immune function, delayed wound healing, decreased sense of taste and smell, poor night vision, alopecia, mental lethargy, skin changes, poor reproductive organ development, and increased risk of abortion.
✔️ Dosage & Administration
- Children under 10 kg:
- 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) 2 times daily after food.
- Children between 10-30 kg:
- 10 ml (2 teaspoonfuls) 1-3 times daily after food.
- Adults and children over 30 kg:
- 20 ml (4 teaspoonfuls) 1-3 times daily after food.
Note: Zinc is most effective if taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. If it causes stomach upset, it may be taken with meals.

- Tetracycline & Zinc: Zinc can decrease the absorption of tetracycline, and vice versa.
- Quinolone Drugs & Zinc: Similar interaction; both zinc and quinolones may have decreased absorption when taken together.
- Penicillamine & Zinc: Zinc absorption may be reduced when taken with penicillamine.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation:
